๐ŸŒฟ Branches replace the mode switch

update

The branch selector now replaces the Production/Development mode switch in the Development workspace. Select master to view Production, or select any other branch to keep working on your changes. One control, no mode to toggle first.

Why this changeโ€‹

Production has always been the master branch. The old switch presented it as a separate mode, which made the workspace harder to explain than it needed to be. Folding it into the branch selector brings three benefits:

  • One mental model: Everything is a branch. master is what your end-users see, and every other branch is where you work on changes.
  • Cleaner layout: The mode switch is gone, so the Development workspace has one less control to think about.
  • Faster navigation: Switch straight from master to any development branch, with no mode change in between.

What's changingโ€‹

The Production/Development toggle has been removed. In its place:

  • master is Production. It holds the finalized, read-only version of your project that end-users see in Reporting. Select master to view Production.
  • Every other branch is Development. Create a branch from master to make changes without touching Production. When you're ready, publish to master to bring your changes live.

Your workflow stays the same: branch off master, commit as you go, and publish when you're done. For the full picture, see Development mode, Production mode and deployment.
